Russian Combat Sambo Championship was held in Krasnoyarsk

On February 18–19 the Russian Combat Sambo Championship was held in Krasnoyarsk. 207 athletes from 35 Russian regions participated in the tournament. According to the senior coach of the Russian Combat Sambo Team Aleksandr Konakov the tournament was held on high organizational level and gathered very strong participants. 

“All champions of the Russian Championship won steadily,” underlined Aleksandr Vladimirovich in his interview to the Press Service of the All-Russian Sambo Federation. “The members of the Russian team were selected on basis of the tournament results; they will compete at the World and European Championships. I think that all athletes can honorably represent our country at the major tournaments.”

According to the traditional Russian Sambo Federation selection principle, the winners of the National Championship will compete at the World Championship, which will be held on November 13–15 in Morocco and the silver medalists will compete at the European Championship on May 15–17 in Croatia.

Winners of the Russian Combat Sambo Championship and the holders of the pass to the European Championship were: Amyr Bakrasov (52 kg), Artur Bagautinov (57 kg), Rustam Taldiev (62 kg), Rashad Muradov (68 kg), Bair Omoktuev (74 kg), Aleksey Ivanov (82 kg), Vyacheslav Vasilevsky (90 kg), Vadim Nemkov (100 kg) and Kirill Sidelnikov (+100 kg).

Silver medalists of the Russian Combat Sambo Championship and the holders of the pass to the European Championship were: Anatoliy Stishak (52 kg), Aleksandr Nesterov (57 kg), Uzair Labazanov (62 kg), Magomedrasul Khasbulaev (68 kg), Andrey Kalinin (74 kg), Murad Kerimov (82 kg), Sultan Aliev (90 kg), Victor Nemkov (100 kg) and Denis Goltsov (+100 kg).
